Unusual Anime Animation Film

Video Post

While I was surfing for animations I came across an unusual site. The site was Japanese, but had an English version, so I watched an animated film. This short anime is directed by Mahiro Maeda and keeps you wondering what will happen next. At least it did for me. Will it do the same for you?

Animation Background
“We planned this short film project for believing in the pursuit and exploitation of fun of images that Japanese animation has, deepening and diversity of flexible expression, understanding and exploitation of individual talents, and the dreams and possibilities to the future, which are inherent in Japanese anima(tor)s. I appreciate your kind support and approval with this small resistance as many as possible.”

Hideaki Anno, Studio Khara

This is a change from the regular anime videos I have seen in the past. It is a Japanese company website and fortunately the site is also translated to English and the videos have English subtitles. They have some notes on the site to see how production was done and to see the creativity of the graphic artists. There are a lot of people that worked on this animation.

At first I thought it might be the same as other anime, but this actually kept me watching it to the end to find out exactly what happens. See if it catches you the same way and let me know what you think about it.

This video gave me the idea that you can use your portfolio as an animation movie if done correctly. Also try to throw in some actual animations if possible to make it more memorable to the viewers. You also need to add the appropriate music to give it a movie type score.
