The Best Portfolio Design 101 PDF
Your portfolio is your brand. It is how you are perceived to those who see it on-line or in person. It shows your abilities and the type of work you are capable of doing and if you can fulfill the needs of their projects.
It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned pro or just out of school. This is your calling card and it really matters, so don’t skimp or rush it.
Samples are where you will want to choose your best pieces to show how versatile you are in your field. However; if you are just out of school you will have school pieces and those should also show your best work to this point. Recruiters will know your potential by the work they see. If you do websites or web images you will want to have some screenshots to show.
How many samples? 10-14 should be sufficient enough to show your creative skills. If you want the images to look professionally done be sure to have high resolution images. Low resolution images give a grainy quality and look poorly done, so invest some time into the images. You can use mock-ups, but don’t overdo it or it will look unprofessional if you are just a beginner.
