The Old Days and Design

The Old Days and Design.

At times I think about the days when design programs were just starting and extremely hard to learn. I would work on my drawing table to sketch out the ideas and produce comps for a client. It was time consuming, but fun.  At least I liked doing it that way. The client mockups would be made of poster board and other materials. Today the mockups are in Photoshop and I love the way they look. Plus they don’t fade in time.

I was wondering how many designers create right in the software or do their designs on paper first? I do it both ways. I get an idea in my head and if it is solid I go right to the software. If not to the paper.

How do you work with your designs? Software? Drawing table? Sketch pads?
