2D Animation for Video Games
It seems that Disney type animation is making a comeback with one design studio. Keep in mind that Disney started in the 1930’s. Now a studio called Studio MDHR is working on a 2D version of a video game called “Cuphead”.
The game is being made frame by frame in the old style of animation and then painted by hand. This is extremely time consuming.
The artist and animator, Chad Moldenhaur has a love for old style animation. So much so that his team located old VHS tapes from cartoon makers Fleischer, Disney and others. And they wore out the tapes from watching so much.
I watched the short video and realized it would probably attract the younger kids more then the older ones, but you never know what will grab a gamers attention.
Watch and let me know what you think.
